128 oz. of canned pork-n-beans (any brand)
1 lb. of browned ground beef
1 lb. of bacon
1 lb. of brown sugar
16 oz. bottle of any brand barbeque sauce
2 chopped bell peppers
2-3 cups of chopped celery
2 large chopped onions
Chop up the bacon before cooking, reserving the drippings. Sauté the vegetables in it until onions are transparent. Drain the beans and add the remaining ingredients and heat. This makes beans for about 25 people.
(My husband thinks I should put them in jars and sell them. He also says that you can add sugar to anything and make it taste good!) I have been making this recipe for years. They are made ahead and taken to the tailgate. I also freeze them in smaller containers and pull them out later. This recipe has been shared with my friends and they are ALWAYS a hit!
